The
Mission of Community Foundation The mission of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi is to impact our communities by connecting people who care with causes that matter. While all causes that improve a community’s quality of life are important, the Foundation has selected education, health care and young people as its top priorities. Its current strategies to address these issues are initiatives in pre-kindergarten education, prevention of childhood obesity and place-based education. Communities served by the Foundation constitute 10 percent of the population and land of Mississippi. The service area covers eight counties: Coahoma, DeSoto, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate and Tunica. The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi has the unique advantage of a commitment from the Maddox Foundation to match 100 percent of Endowed Funds up to $10 million in a 10-year period. This matching grant doubles the impact of any donor’s gift. |
