 JANUARY HEALTH CHAMPION 

The DeSoto County Community Health Council, a component of Get A Life! My Life, My Health, My Choice, a childhood obesity prevention initiative of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, has recognized Southaven Coach ‘Bam’ Bryant as the January Health Champion!  For voluntarily leading exercise classes for the staff and teachers and for advocating for healthy lifestyles in DeSoto County, Coach Bryant received this recognition.  Coach Bryant further shows his dedication to health and exercise with his involvement in summer speed & agility camps for youth through the A & B Xtreme Speed and Agility organization (www.abxtremefc.com.  Surrounded by his class (teachers and staff of Southaven High School), Coach Bryant accepts the award.  The Community Health Council chooses a monthly health champion from nominees.  If you know of an individual, group, organization, church or school that deserves to be recognized, send the nomination including name, contact information and why the nominee is advocating for healthy lifestyles in DeSoto County to plinton@cfnm.org or call 662.449.5002.
