About The Heart of Mississippi Gives Community Campaign for Northwest Mississippi
This GivingTuesday, we invite you to be part of something extraordinary. The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi is proud to launch The Heart of Mississippi Gives Community Campaign—a region-wide celebration of generosity designed to grow endowments that strengthen our communities through lasting support for health, education, and youth programs.
Through the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi (CFNM), you can give directly to the causes and communities you care about most. Since 2002, donors like you have helped us grant more than $48 million dollars to nonprofits and charitable initiatives across the region, directing dollars to the greatest needs. In 2024, we granted over $6 million dollars, with 88% staying right here in Northwest Mississippi.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of John and Robin Cocke of Clarksdale, we are excited to announce Matching Gift Funds to the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi Endowment Fund. That means every gift you make will be doubled, building lasting resources to sustain our work for generations to come.
Tiered Giving Goals
- Tier 1: $25,000 Match – Every dollar doubled until the first milestone is reached! Help us achieve this by October 31st.
- Tier 2: $50,000 Community Challenge – Rally with us to keep the momentum going.
- Tier 3: Full Match Goal – Unlock the full matching opportunity and show the strength of our community.
✨ Special Opportunity for Endowment Donors: Gifts of $1,000–$500,000 to an Endowment Fund may also qualify for Endow Mississippi state tax credits.

The Heart of Mississippi Gives Community Campaign is a mission-focused, community-centered celebration of generosity across Northwest Mississippi, supporting causes throughout the region. This campaign came out of a cohort led by GivingTuesday and sponsored by Fidelity Charitable to encourage small, rural regions to have GivingTuesday campaigns.
The regular campaign period is November 18th-December 2nd! If you are donating $1,000+ and want to apply for ENDOW MS credits, you must apply by September 30th and submit your gift during our early giving period between October 1-October 31st!
Endow Mississippi Tax Credits encourage giving in Mississippi by providing a 25% tax credit for donations between $1,000 to $500,000 to an ENDOWMENT fund. You may only apply for credits through a verified Community Foundation like ours. Fill out your application at cfnm.org/endow-ms/ and submit to strout@cfnm.org, mail it to 315 Losher Street, Ste 100, Hernando, MS 38632, or drop by in person! You must apply by September 30th and make your gift by October 31st to meet eligibility requirements.
The Heart of Mississippi Gives Community Campaign is targeted at our 12-county service region in Northwest Mississippi, including Bolivar, Coahoma, DeSoto, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tunica, Tate, and Yalobusha counties.
In addition, our nonprofit endowment fundholders have been invited to participate in the campaign as well. However, only donations to the CFNM Endowment, which supports our Competitive Grants Cycle and Signature Programs like the Maddox Nonprofit & Volunteer Resource Hub, The Box Project, and Delta Directions, will be matched. Our Competitive Grants support initiatives focused on health, education and children.
A matching gift means that every dollar up to the matching gift amount will be doubled. If you give $100 dollars, the generous donor matches your donations with another $100 donation.
